Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Groton

More rain, flooding possible for the area, and we'll let you know when the rain ends and how much has fallen in Connecticut.

The National Weather Service issued a “Hazardous Weather Outlook” for the entire state of Connecticut, mainly because of the possibility of flooding on Tuesday as the rains begin to end later this evening.

A “Flash Flood Watch” is also in effect for the entire state. Besides the rain and possible flooding the temps will feel about 20 degrees cooler than normal as high temps will be stuck in the mid-50s.

For New London, Middlesex, Fairfield and New Haven counties, periods of some rain are forecast after noon, with flooding a concern until this evening.

According to the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail, and Snow Network, which monitors precipitation daily, the big winner thus far has been Southington, as parts of the town received 5.33 inches and 3.02 inches of rain on Monday alone.

Tuesday: Rain or drizzle likely. Cloudy, with a high near 54. North wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Tuesday Night: A slight chance of rain before 11 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 47. Northeast wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 65. Northeast wind around 9 mph becoming southeast in the afternoon.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 50. East wind 6 to 8 mph.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 64. East wind 6 to 8 mph.

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 57.

Friday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 70.

Friday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 61. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
