Hydrant Flushing May Cause Water Discoloration
On Tuesday, August 19, Ledyard and Groton residents may see water discoloration. If it persists, people are asked to call Groton Utilities.
On Tuesday, August 19, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Groton Utilities will be flushing hydrants in the Avery Hill Trailer Park during the conversion from well water to Groton/Ledyard water.
Customers may experience some water discoloration. Groton Utilities suggests that customers check their water prior to doing laundry to avoid discoloration of clothes. If water discoloration is experienced, flush your system by running the water until it is clear.
Once the water is clear, it will be safe for drinking and cooking. If water discoloration persists, contact Groton Utilities’ Customer Care Center at 860-446-4000.
