Irish National Accused Of Swindling Mystic Watch Dealer: Report

Law enforcement suspect an Irish man is a member of a traveling group of con artists, according to a report.

GROTON, CT — An Irish national suspected to be part of a group of con artists is accused of scamming a Mystic watch dealer out of $20,000, according to The Day of New London.

James A. Sherlock, 20, was arrested Dec. 11 in connection to a scheme police said involved defrauding an elderly homeowner out of money for home improvements, then using the cash to purchase expensive watches.

He was charged with first-degree forgery and second-degree larceny.
