Lawyer of Groton Sailor Facing Photo Charges Compares Client to Hillary Clinton

A former Groton sailor is facing charges for taking unauthorized photos on a submarine.

GROTON, CT -- The lawyer of a former Groton sailor facing illegal photo charges isarguing his client’s sentence should reflect similar cases, such as recent investigations into Hillary Clinton, The Day reported.

Petty Officer First Class Kristian Saucier, 29, pleaded guilty in May to taking pictures of classified spaces and information in 2009, according to The Day. He took a plea deal that involves a sentence of 63 to 78 months in prison.

Saucier’s lawyer argued that his client’s case is similar to Clinton’s recent email investigation, The Day reported. He also pointed out that Saucier did not distribute the photos to anyone.
