Long-Distance Ragnar Run Coming Up In Groton

Ragnar Relay, a 200-mile race, will return to the City of Groton for the second year in a row for their annual event.

GROTON, CT — This Friday, May 20, 2022, Ragnar Relay will return to the City of Groton for the second year in a row for their annual event. There will be around 150 runners with support vans/vehicles. The event is a 200-mile long distance running relay race starting in the City of Groton and ending in Boston, Massachusetts. The race will begin at 5:00 AM from Eastern Point Beach. Start times for the runners will be staggered. Runners will continue leaving from Eastern Point Beach until approximately 12:30 PM.

There will be a M.C., who at a reasonable level will be playing music and motivating the runners before they begin their journey. We would like to thank Ragnar for bringing more awareness to the beautiful City of Groton and for choosing our location.

As they are starting from Eastern Point Beach, runners will go to Beach Pond Road, continue to Eastern Point Road. They will continue to Tyler Avenue onto Shennecossett Road. They will then continue to Thomas Road and continue into the Town of Groton.
