MA Man Charged In Groton Sexual Assault: Police
A man is being charged in connection with a 2021 sexual assault.
GROTON, CT — A Massachusetts man is being charged in connection with a sexual assault, according to police. The victim went to Groton Town Police headquarters April 27 to file a complaint tied to a December 2021 sexual assault.
Police conducted a follow-up investigation and interviews related to the victim's complaint. Police obtained an arrest warrant June 14 for Jonathan Tobey, 38, of Yarmouth, MA.
Yarmouth police located Tobey on June 17 and learned he was wanted out of Connecticut with an extraditable warrant.

Groton Town Police Criminal Investigation Division personnel extradited Tobey from Massachusetts to Connecticut on Wednesday.
Tobey was charged with first-degree sexual assault and third-degree sexual assault. He was held on $500,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court in New London Thursday.
