Man Accused Of Assaulting State Trooper In Groton: Report
Police said the accused allegedly attempted to strike a state trooper with a tree branch.

GROTON, CT — Police said a New Hampshire man is accused of attempting to strike a state trooper with a tree branch after being stopped and escorted off Interstate 95 in Groton on three different occasions Sunday, the New London Day reported.
According to the New London Day, police said Stephen Prescott, 53, of Manchester, N.H., was brought to the ground by the trooper, however he used his fingers to gouge at the trooper’s eyes. The trooper suffered minor injuries, police said.
