Man Accused Of Assaulting Woman Over Parking Spot In Groton: Police

A man is facing charges after he assaulted a woman who he felt took a parking spot that was his, according to police.

GROTON, CT — A man is facing accusations that he assaulted a woman over a parking spot, according to police.

City of Groton police responded to a call at 6:08 a.m. Jan. 7 reporting an assault on Poquonnock Road.

A 68-year-old Chester man is accused of assaulting a woman after she took a parking spot that he felt was his, Lieut. Travis Winkleman said.

The man opened the victim's car door and struck her in the face. The woman had "visible injuries" and was evaluated by medical personnel.

The man was charged with second-degree breach of peace, third-degree assault, and second-degree reckless endangerment.

His bond was set at $1,500.
