Man Charged In Commercial Burglary In Groton, Police Say

A man is facing accusations that he broke into a restaurant and stole a cash drawer, according to police.

GROTON, CT — Police have made an arrest in a commercial burglary investigation.

Town of Groton police responded June 4 at about 4:15 a.m. to a report of a burglar alarm activation at Olio Restaurant at 33 Kings Highway.

Officers arrived at the restaurant to find a damaged door, which someone had used to illegally enter the restaurant. A cash drawer was missing.

Following an investigation, police addressed Javon Young, 48, homeless, in connection with the burglary.

Young was arrested Jan. 22. He was charged with third-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief, and sixth-degree larceny.
