Man Arrested for Threatening Woman with Gun: Groton Police

Police said a Groton man who allegedly pulled a gun on a woman he met at a New London bar was taken into custody.

GROTON, CT - Police said a Groton man charged with threatening a woman with a gun turned himself in Thursday, the Hartford Courant reported. The suspect allegedly pulled a gun on the woman at his home last month.

Alexander Pickett, 31, was charged in the March 9 incident police said involved a woman he met at a New London bar, according to the Hartford Courant. The victim reported the suspect pulled out a handgun after she went with the man to his Groton home. (To sign up for Groton breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

Police said the victim smashed a glass in the suspect’s face after he made sexual advances towards her, the Hartford Courant reported. He subsequently pointed shotgun at her and said he would shoot her.
