Man Harassed, Threatened Public Officials, Groton Police Say
A Groton man is accused of threatening and harassing police, town employees, and private citizens.
GROTON, CT — A man will face charges for the "threatening and harassing of various public officials and private individuals," Town of Groton police said.
A joint law enforcement effort involving local police, the U. S. Marshals Service, and Waterbury police took Jeremy Colonghi, 47, of the City of Groton, into custody on Friday at 5:30 a.m.
There were warrants out for his arrest in Waterbury and Groton.

Colonghi is accused of going on profanity-laden tirades against police, town employees, and private citizens on Facebook and other online forums, The Day of New London reported.
He is being charged in Waterbury with first-degree stalking, criminal violation of a protective order, second-degree harassment, and disorderly conduct.

Town of Groton police also hold a warrant for his arrest on harassment-related charges, according to The Day.
