Man Killed When Car Strikes Construction Vehicle On I-95 In Groton

A man is dead following a crash Thursday night, according to state police.

GROTON, CT -- A man died after his car struck a parked construction vehicle on I-95 in Groton on Thursday night, according to a state police accident report.

Paul Bigos, 37, of Dighton, Massachusetts, was driving a 2012 Subaru Impreza northbound on I095 at 9:48 p.m.

He was driving between exits 88 and 89 in Groton when the car left the road, entered the grassy median, and struck a construction vehicle. The construction vehicle wasn't occupied and wasn't in the road, state police said.

The Subaru blocked northbound lanes following the crash, and Bigos was trapped inside the car.

He was taken by Groton Ambulance to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital where he was declared dead due to his injuries.
