Man Threatened To Shoot People At Groton Plaza, Police Say

GROTON, CT — A man is facing threatening charges in Groton after an incident at a shopping plaza, according to police.

Town of Groton police responded to a report of threatening at the Groton Shopping Plaza on Long Hill Road on Wednesday at 4:38 p.m.

The victims told police they were sitting in an alley between stores when the suspect walked by and started an argument with them.

During the argument, the suspect implied that he had a weapon in his bag and threatened to shoot them.

Officers found the suspect, Alvin Ramos, 55, of Groton, a short distance away. He was arrested without incident.

Police said he did not have any weapons. However, he had been formally ordered not to enter the property.

Ramos was charged with second-degree threatening and first-degree criminal trespassing. He was released on $10,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in New London Superior Court on Aug. 19.
