Man Wanted On Warrants In RI, VA Arrested In Groton: Police
A New London man is being held on $750,000 bond after he was arrested in Groton.
GROTON, CT — A man wanted on extraditable warrants in Rhode Island and Virginia was arrested in Groton, according to police.
An officer stopped a Hyundai Elantra in a routine traffic stop in the area of Long Hill Road and Route 12 on Sunday at about 10 p.m. The driver at first gave a false name, according to police.
Town of Groton police eventually confirmed that the driver was Jeffrey Burgos, 38, of New London. They then learned that he was wanted on multiple extraditable warrants held by the U.S. Marshals Service.

He was also wanted on four active arrest warrants for failure to register as a sexual offender, a felony in Connecticut, according to police.
Burgos was taken into custody and is being held on $750,000 bond.

He was also charged with improper tail lamps, operation of a motor vehicle without a license, and interfering with an officer.
