Speeding Driver Hit 100 MPH On I-95 In Groton, Police Say
A man is facing a reckless driving charge after he sped by an officer and weaved through traffic at high speeds, police said.
GROTON, CT — A man was arrested on charges that he drove about 100 mph on I-95 in Groton, according to police.
A Town of Groton officer was driving on I-95 northbound at 1:30 p.m. in New London when a vehicle passed him going an estimated 100 mph.
The officer said he saw the vehicle enter the Town of Groton on the Gold Star Memorial Bridge continuing to drive between 90 and 95 mph while weaving through three lanes of traffic. The bridge is in a 55-mph hour zone and regularly has heavy traffic.

The officer stopped the drive near exit 87. Amare Bush, 20, of New Haven, did not have a driver's license, according to police.
He was charged with reckless driving and operating a vehicle without a license.

Bush posted $2,500 cash or surety bond and was released. He is scheduled to appear Feb. 15 at New London Superior Court.
