School-Based Health Center Opening Ceremony Postponed

Officials were going to attend the opening of Mary Morrison Elementary's School-based Health Center Tuesday but snow day postponed event.

GROTON, CT —Update: The snow day has postponed this event.

State Representatives Christine Conley and Joe de la Cruz will attend the opening of the new School-Based Health Center at Mary Morrisson Elementary School in Groton.

Funding for this latest health center at Mary Morrisson Elementary was allocated to the Child & Family Agency of Southeastern Connecticut through this year’s biennial budget, H.B. 7424, legislation that both lawmakers supported.

A tour of the facility will be followed by the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The event at the school located at 154 Toll Gate Road, Groton is open to the public and is slated for Tuesday, Dec. 2 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The Child & Family Agency of Southeastern Connecticut was created in 1954 to meet the mental health needs of World War II veterans in the region, and has served Connecticut families for generations.
