The accident occurred in the early morning hours of Oct. 14. Police responded and found that a Toyota 4Runner left the road and crashed into the woods, trapping all four people in the SUV.
All four people needed to be extricated by emergency crews. The victims were taken to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
An initial investigation found that the Toyota was driving north on Fishtown Road just south of Mystic River Magnet School when it went across the southbound lane and left the road, striking a tree.
Fundraisers for two of the seriously injured victims in the crash are available through GoFundMe here and here.
