Mildred E. Midgley, of Groton, Passed Away on March 28

Mildred E. Midgley, of Groton, passed away on March 28, 2015 at the Groton Regency. She was 99 years old.

She was born on November 10, 1915 in Rehoboth, MA, the daughter of Herbert and Ada (Potts) Bowers.

Mildred was the wife of Kenneth Midgley who passed away in 1993.  She is survived by her three sons, Robert of Bloomville, NY, William, of Hope Well Junction, NY, Richard, of Palm Coast, FL; four daughters, Joyce Hunzinger, of Groton, Cynthia Spano, of Hillsdale, NY, Edith Harris, of Palm Coast, FL, and Sandra Tegan, of Mount Vernon, NY; a sister Edith Tulip, of Brookville, FL; thirty grandchildren; thirty-six great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her two sisters Beatrice Bowers and Carolyn DesJardan, brother Kenneth Bowers, and a grandson Nicholas Spano.

Mildred was a member of the Poquonnock Bridge Baptist Church in Groton.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Byles-Groton Memorial Home, 310 Thames Street, Groton. Burial will follow in Colonel Ledyard Cemetery in Groton. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers donations in Mildred’s name may be made to the Poquonnock Bridge Baptist Church, 1241 Poquonnock Road, Groton, CT 06340.
