Mosquitoes Test Positive For West Nile Virus In Groton: Report

Area health officials made the announcement this week.

GROTON, CT — Mosquitoes infected with West Nile virus have been discovered in Groton, area health officials announced this week.

The Day reports that the mosquitoes were trapped on Sunday, Aug. 27, and area residents should practice caution while being outside.

The Ledge Light Health District, which serves East Lyme, Groton, Ledyard, New London, Old Lyme, Stonington and Waterford, offers tips and a larvicide for treating standing water. For more information, contact the district's Christopher Seery at 860-448-4882, ext. 351.
