Mystic Chamber's Business Of The Month: Grossman's Seafood
Each month, The Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce highlights a member business deserving of special recognition.

The Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce as the first ever recipient of our Business of the Month award. Throughout March we received numerous nominations for this accolade from businesses of many different industries based upon factors including outstanding community involvement, major improvements, achievements, and overall successes.
Recently, Grossman’s has undergone a number of major improvements and innovations. Their Mystic location received a refreshing face lift and expanded to , taking care of the community’s needs. Winter cooking classes were offered at their Groton location, teaching people how to cook and prepare seafood. These classes have been very popular and usually sold out. Last year, they introduced a brand new catering division, .
Alongside growth and expansion, Grossman’s continually gives back to the community. Grossman’s has fed over 2,000 people and raised over $20,000.00 for the local charity through their which is now in its fourth year of bringing the community together for a common cause. They provide a storage facility for donated items that make up care packages for soldiers overseas, and were among the first to open their doors to support families involved in the tragic accident of the teenagers in Griswold.

In addition to community involvement, Grossman’s reaches out to students of all ages. Students at the in Groton are raising fish in tanks as a part of an exciting partnership with Grossman’s. The idea is to get the kids involved from tank to table. The doors are always open at Grossman’s for culinary students from area schools to tour the facility and explore how the business is run from in all aspects ranging from filleting demonstrations to explanations of expenses, supply and demand and pricing and selling.
Grossman’s Seafood truly brightens up the Greater Mystic community in many different ways and is very deserving of the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce’s May Business of the Month award.
