Mystic Holiday Lighted Boat Parade This Weekend
The event will include the arrival of Santa by tugboat. Police have released traffic information for the parade.
MYSTIC, CT — The 20th Annual Mystic Holiday Lighted Boat Parade will be Saturday, Nov. 25.
The event will include the arrival of Santa by tugboat and the light of the Mystic River Park Christmas tree on the Stonington side of the Mystic River.
Santa will arrive by tugboat at 2 p.m. The Christmas tree lighting is 6 p.m., and the boat parade is at 6:15 p.m. More information on the event is available through the Mystic Chamber of Commerce.

The downtown Mystic area is expected to see a large amount of spectators on both sides of the Mystic River.
Visitors planning on traveling to Mystic are advised that the Mystic Drawbridge will be raised at about 5:55 p.m. to allow the boat parade to travel on the south side of the river to Mystic River Park and allow spectators to watch the boats.

The bridge will be lowered at 6:45 p.m.
Heavy traffic should be expected in the following areas of the Groton side of Mystic around the time of the event, according to Town of Groton police:
- West Main Street
- Water Street
- New London Road
- Pearl Street
- Gravel Street
- High Street
Police reminded drivers and pedestrians to "be vigilant and safe when traveling in downtown Mystic during the event."
