For National Cheeseburger Day, Free Burgers For A Year Contest

GROTON, CT—One hundred and nineteen years ago, Louis Lassen invented the burger at Louis’ Lunch in New Haven. In homage to the invention of the food that changed the world, likely not hyperbole, and to celebrate National Cheeseburger Day on Sept. 18, Applebee's announced its free Cheeseburger Day 'Burgers for a Year' contest.

Ten customers visiting Applebee’s Grill + Bar locations have a chance to win free burgers for an entire year. And that includes the Groton location.

To enter, diners submit online their information, along with a picture of themselves and their favorite burger—either homemade or from their favorite restaurant. Contest entry is open until midnight (EST) on Sept. 18.

In addition to guests’ chance to win, a few of Applebee’s burgers with fries are $6.99 on National Cheeseburger Day. That's a little less than half the regular price for classic burger, classic cheeseburger and classic bacon cheeseburger sandwiches.

Cannon Companies. “We truly believe that some of the best memories can be made around the dining room table and on National Cheeseburger Day, and every day, we are here to help our guests make that happen.”

Participating Connecticut Applebee’s locations include Groton, Plainville, Mansfield, Torrington, Orange, and Danbury.

Hamburger choices include the Classic Hamburger, Classic Cheeseburger or Classic Bacon Cheeseburger with fries—no substitutions. Dine-in only. To enter to win Free Burgers for a Year, guests must be 18 years of age or older. No purchase necessary. Free burger winners will receive one free burger a month, for 12 months.
