National Drug Takeback Day Coming Up In Groton

The event will be later this month and will allow residents to dispose of unwanted or expired medications.

GROTON, CT — National Drug Take Back Day is coming up and the City of Groton Police Department is participating.

The event will be April 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the police department.

City of Groton police provided the following on the event:

"The City of Groton Police Department and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration will give the public the opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs.

"Bring your pills for disposal to City of Groton Municipal Building at 295 Meridian Street, Groton, CT 06340. (Sites cannot accept liquids, needles or sharps, only pills or patches.) The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked."
