New Book Reading - on the 911 Tragedy - Madison, CT 10/08/19

A new book, "The Only Plane in the Sky," which has hit all major best seller lists recently, will now be available at the R.J. Julia Bookshop on Rt 1 in Madison, CT. They will be having a reading and signing ceremony by the author, Garrett Graff, on Tuesday, October 10, 2019 at 7:00 PM.

This is perhaps the most comprehensive book on the subject of the tragedy and events that occurred on that day of September 11, 2001, just over 18 years ago. The author spent many years and compiled comments from over 500 people on what they specifically remembered. The action moves back and forth between the events as they were occurring, with the result that, even though we all know what basically happened, I found it difficult to put the book down after I started reading it. Most striking is the confusion that was created by an enemy who, quite literally, struck us from inside our own country in a manner that we had never experienced and that we are still trying to completely understand.

So I do encourage anyone interested in this subject to attend the book signing event and hear more about how Mr. Graff went about putting all this information together. It is a topic that should never grow old, and certainly should never be forgotten. Ed J
