The following announcement is from the Board Chairman of the Noank Community Market, located on Pearl Street in the village area of Noank:
“With great sadness, the Board of Directors has concluded that it has no choice but to close the Market. In spite of the steadfast support of our members and numerous others throughout the community, we have not been able to generate enough business to keep the Market going.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, I’d like to extend my sincere thanks to our members, Stacy and all of our employees, our customers, and the community at large. It was a brave thing to establish a community Market and a challenge to sustain it over these past years. None of this would have happened without your support.

We expect to close our doors for good on the evening of Sunday August 16th. As we wind down our operations, we plan to lower prices on our existing inventory during the remaining part of this week. Please stop in, buy something, and bid the Market a fond farewell.
John Sutherland, NCM Board Chair”
