Obituary: Edna Sanborn Parfitt, 82, of Groton

Edna Sanborn Parfitt, 82, of Groton, went home to the Lord on Monday, October 23, 2017. Edna was born on September 10, 1935, in Westbrook, ME, the daughter of the late Walter G. and Marie (Slaight) Sanborn.

Edna graduated from Deering High School and Golden School of Beauty in Portland, ME.

Edna married the love of her life, Walter Parfitt, on November 26, 1955 at Bishop Seabury Church in Groton where she was a long time member. Walter passed away in 2015. She is also predeceased by her loving niece Carla Parfitt Carrier.

She is survived by her two sons, John W. Parfitt, Jr (Dana) and Neal A. Parfitt (Rebecca); three grandchildren, Tim Parfitt, James Parfitt (Rose), and Erin Gordon (Calvin); and two great-grandchildren, Onastasha and Owin.

Visiting hours will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, October 27, at Byles Memorial Home, 99 Huntington St, New London.

Funeral service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, October 28 at Bishop Seabury Anglican Church, 7 Hurlbutt Rd, Gales Ferry. Her burial will follow in Smith Lake Cemetery, Groton.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be directed to Bishop Seabury Anglican Church, P. O. Box 188, Gales Ferry, CT 06335.
