Obituary: Edwin Frank Chase, 81, Of Groton

GROTON, CT — Edwin Frank Chase, 81, of Groton passed away at his residence, peacefully, with his family at his side on Sunday, May 6, 2018.

He was born on March 8, 1937 in Medford, MA, a son to the late James E. and Dorothy Daprey Chase. Mr. Chase was married to the former Marilyn Gagne on September 5, 1959 in Medford.

He had worked as a design engineer for 25 years at the former Stone & Webster Corp, and then for over 17 years at the Electric Boat Company in Groton prior to his full retirement.

Besides his wife, Mr. Chase is survived by two daughter Lori Chase of Belmont, NH, Carrie McFarland of Clinton, MA, a son James H. Chase of Moultonboro, NH, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He had also been predeceased by his sister Patricia Currie.

His family will be receiving relatives and friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thursday, May 10 with a Memorial Service to be held at 11 a.m. at the Byles- Groton Memorial Home (310 Thames Street).

In lieu of flowers, his family has requested that donations be directed to the Masonicare Home Health & Hospice (45 Clara Dr, Mystic, CT 06355).
