Harry J. Larsen, 85, of North Stonington, CT husband of the late Joyce (Bedell) Larsen died unexpectedly, Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at home.
Born in Bloomfield, CT he was the son of the late Harry and Mae (Burns) Larsen and has lived in North Stonington since 1993. Harry enlisted in the U.S. Navy, volunteered and proudly served during the Korean War until 1954 as a submariner.

He married Joyce in 1950, built his own home and raised his family in West Hartford. He owned and operated his own service stations and obtained a level of master mechanic. He retired in 1992.
He was active as a scout leader, church schoolteacher and Deacon. His passion was boating, cruising the New England coastline and woodworking.

He is survived by his three sons, Kenneth R. Larsen of North Stonington, Keith M. Larsen of West Hartford and Kirk A. Larsen of New London; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Andrew, Sarah, Kelsey, Seth, Kalen and Tyler Larsen; and his two brothers, Jay Larsen of WV and Robert Larsen and his wife, Anne, of Haddam.
A service will be held Monday, March 13th at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of North Stonington at 793 Pendleton Hill Rd. North Stonington. Burial will follow with military honors at the Pendleton Hill Cemetery.
