Obituary: Isabell L. Adams, 103, Of Groton

GROTON, CT — Isabell L. Adams, 103, of Groton passed away on Friday evening, January 12, 2018 at the Groton Regency. She was born in Groton on October 29, 1914 the daughter of James and Lucy Doyle.

She was married to the love of her life, William A. Adams, Sr. who referred to her as his queen, on August 20, 1936. William passed away on April 24, 2006. They had 30 years of retirement together, travelling throughout Europe and the US.

She enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of her family. She especially loved entertaining, being around her family and travelling to Pennsylvania with her sisters each year.

Isabell was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Groton.

She is survived by her son, William A. Adams, Jr and his wife Patricia of Westerly, R.I., a daughter Barbara Robinson of San Diego, C.A., her sister, Lucy Doyle of Groton, four grandchildren, Sheryl, Kristin, William III and Debbie and four great grandchildren, Chelsae, Ryan, Tiana and Jaime, and two great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the Groton Regency especially the staff on C wing for the care given to Isabell.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 56 Sacred Heart Dr, Groton. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, New London.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Byles-Groton Memorial Home, 301 Thames St. Donations in her memory may be directed to the Groton Regency, 1145 Poquonnock Road, Groton, CT 06340.
