Obituary: Joanne M. Christina, 62, of Groton

Joanne Marie Christina, 62, formerly of Governors Circle, Groton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Harbor Village in New London.

She was born in New London on June 9, 1955, the daughter of John F. and Agnes R. Christina. She graduated from Fitch Senior High School in 1973.

Joanne was employed by KACC Radio in Alvin, Texas as a DJ for many years.

Survivors include her son, Ronald Jessee Jr of Groton, and two brothers, John F. Christina, Jr. of Spokane, WA, and Steven P. Christina of Old Mystic. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Ethan and Tyler Jessee; two nieces, Stacia Borysewicz, of Groton, and Stacy Marie Gregg of Vancouver, WA; and one nephew, Steven P. Christina, Jr. of Old Mystic.

A celebration of life will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Byles-Groton Memorial Home, 310 Thames Street, Groton. Burial is private.
