Obituary: Thomas Flynn, 94, Of Groton
Tom was an avid walker, loved music and always enjoyed meeting with his family and friends for a chat and a Guinness.

Thomas Flynn, 94, of Groton passed away on Thursday March 1, 2018. He was born on August 19, 1923 to Margaret (O’Connor) Flynn and John Flynn in Stradbally, County Kerry, Ireland.
He worked and was a highly skilled welder in England and Canada before immigrating to the United States. He was also employed by General Dynamics/Electric Boat in Quincy, Massachusetts and in Groton, Connecticut for twenty-five years.

Tom was predeceased by his wife, Patricia (Blease) Flynn on July 6, 2012 and is survived by their daughter, Pearl F. Murphy and her husband Dexter, Mystic, CT and sons John Flynn, Old Saybrook, CT and Stephen Flynn, East Hampton, CT. Tom is also survived by his grandchildren Ryan Murphy, Brendan Murphy, Courtney Flynn and John Declan Flynn.
Tom was predeceased by his parents, and by his siblings Eileen Flynn, Michael Flynn and Margaret Griffin, all from Ireland.

He leaves behind many nieces and nephews, as well as his brothers in law and sisters in law- James O’Donoghue, wife Mary, of England; and Patrick O’Donoghue, wife Rose and Con Butler, wife Mary-deceased, of Ireland.
Tom was an avid walker, loved music and always enjoyed meeting with his family and friends for a chat and a Guinness. One of his favorite sayings to all was “Slainte” which means “Good Health” in Gaelic. He will be sadly missed.
