Obituary: Virgina ‘ Ginny’ Robarge, 92, Of Groton

Virgina ‘ Ginny’ Robarge, 92, of Groton passed away on Friday December 8, 2017 at the Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London.

Ginny was born on August 3, 1925 in Groton, a daughter to the late Rosario and Catherine Sylvester Giordano.

She had been married on September 14, 1946 to the late Richard D. Robarge. He passed away on October 18, 2000.

For many years, Ginny had worked for the Groton Board of Education as a secretary at the West Side Middle School.

Her survivors include a daughter Lynn Cox and her husband Glenn of Haddam, a son Richard D. Robarge Jr. of Storrs, four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Ginny had also been predeceased by two sisters Rosalie Alfieri, Nancy Niedbalski and her bother Salvatore Giordano.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Sacred Heart Church on Sacred Heart Drive in Groton. Her burial will follow in the St. Mary Cemetery in New London.

There will be a visiting hour from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Byles- Groton Memorial Home (310 Thames Street) prior to the Mass.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be directed to the Sacred Heart Church, 55 Sacred Heart Dr, Groton, CT 06340.
