Person Struck By Amtrak Train In Groton
A person was struck and injured by an Amtrak train in Groton on Friday morning.

GROTON, CT — A person was hit by an Amtrak train in Groton on Friday morning, according to WTNH News-8. The extent of the person's injuries is unknown.
The Amtrak train 171 was traveling from Boston to Roanoke shortly before 10 a.m. when the person was struck on the tracks on the west end of the Thames Bridge, WTNH News-8 reported.
No injuries were reported to the 425 people onboard the train, according to FOX 61.

Amtrak Northeast tweeted the following: "Train 171 is currently stopped east of New London (NLC) due to a trespasser incident. We will provide an update as more information becomes available."
