Pickup Truck Hits Utility Pole, Driver Injured In Groton
A major intersection was closed following an accident, police said.
GROTON, CT — A pickup truck struck a utility pole and brought down wires, closing an intersection in Groton on Sunday, according to police.
The accident was reported at the intersection of Route 1 and Buddington Road at 2:40 a.m. A pickup truck had taken down a utility pole and multiple electrical wires.
The driver was taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The intersection was closed to traffic Sunday. It has since reopened, but the traffic signal remains without power.
Police said stop signs have been placed at the intersection as a temporary measure.
