Police: Groton Man Pulls a Knife on Emergency Responders Called to Help Him

Groton police say the man tried to stab emergency responders and police officers called to provide aid for the man.

Groton police say Robert Hart, 52, is accused of trying to stab emergency responders including firefighters and police officers who were originally called to the house to help the man on Friday, NBC Connecticut reports.

Police, firefighters and EMTs were called to the 1290 North Road house after probation officers visited Hart and determined he needed medical attention.

But at some point Hart allegedly went for a hidden knife and attempted to stab police and fire responders, NBC reports. Officers were able to take Hart into custody before anyone was injured.
