Police Identify Groton Woman Who Died After Car Plunged into River: Report
Police are still investigating the situation.

GROTON, CT - Police have identified a woman who died after her vehicle plunged into a river on Friday in Groton City, as reported by News 8.
Police said Lakiah Handyearl, 21, of Groton died after her car plunged into the Thames River just behind Puffin's restaurant, according to News 8. Divers were able to remove the victim from her car, after which she was transported to the hospital and later pronounced dead.
Witnesses initially spotted the trunk of the victim's car sticking out of the water, News 8 reported. Police are still investigating the situation.
