Police Recruits to Graduate Wednesday

Forty-seven officers will complete training, including new officers from Groton (Town and City) and Montville. Congrats in advance!

The Police Officer Standards and Training Council (POST) proudly announces the graduation of Recruit Class #342.  The class of 47 police officers, representing 29 municipal police departments, state universities, and the state Department of Motor Vehicles, will complete their training program on Dec. 18. A graduation ceremony will be held at Central Connecticut State University’ Welte Hall in New Britain on Wednesday, Dec. 18 at 6 p.m. 

The class roster consists of police officers representing police departments in Groton City, Groton Town and Montville.

The Recruits have completed an 880 hour Basic Training Curriculum encompassing Academic Classes, Practical Skills, Firearms, Defensive Tactics, Patrol Driving, Penal Code, Motor Vehicle Law, Laws of Arrest, Search and Seizure and a host of other topics.
