Public Hearing Scheduled on Proposed Groton Schools Budget
The proposed spending plan requests $77.7 million.

The Groton Board of Education will hold a public hearing Monday on its proposed $77.7 million schools budget for 2016-17.
Monday’s meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. in the Main Room at the Groton Senior Center. The public hearing is slated for 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by a budget review session.
The school system’s current $77.13 million budget can be viewed by clicking here. The proposed budget for next year will be available on the district’s website in the near future, according to officials.

The Day reports that the proposed budget calls for class size to remain at 20 students through grade two, and 25 students in grades three and above.
