Public Meeting to discuss Proposed Noank School Public Garden
On Thursday, January 23, 2014, there will be a Public Meeting from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Groton Public Library. It will an open discussion of the proposal by an expertienced group of local citizens to create a public food garden, available to all Groton taxpayers, on the Town property now occupied by the former Noank Elementary School.
The overall intent of the program is to create space for the growing of vegetables for local consumption as well as to provide an environment for local agricultural education, but through financial grants which would eliminate costs to the Town of Groton.
Questions and input from the Public will be encouraged at the meeting.
