R&B Apparel Plus Can Put Your Name On Anything You Want

They are in the business of selling advertising specialty items including hats, t-shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, pens and pencils that can be emblazoned with a message of your choice.

The Mystic Outdoor Arts Festival this weekend featured t-shirts and hats done R&B Apparel Plus.  After five months in business in Plaza Court the business is doing very well to the excitement of its three partners.

“It’s going very, very well,” said Owner Rich Bernardo.  “It really truly is.”

R&B is filling a void caused by the closing of Tee’s Plus, earlier this year.  All three partners, Bernardo, Bonnie Gagnon and Pat Jullarine are former employees of Tee’s Plus. With 50 years combined experience in this business Rich said, “I should have done this a long time ago!”

An ad specialty/advertising company they are in the business of selling advertising specialty items including hats, t-shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, pens and pencils. When an item is chosen the in-house graphic artist works with clients to develop what to imprint on these items.  The screen-printing and embroidery is then contracted out.

Much of their business comes from referrals and includes area little leagues, schools, clubs, road races, recreation programs and fraternal organizations. One of their biggest clients, Charter Facilities, provides uniforms for elementary through high school students in the Midwest.

“We’ve had the opportunity to work with him over the years on many different projects and so we were delighted to hear that they were opening up their own company, under the name R&B Apparel Plus,” said Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce President Tricia Cunningham.  “We can continue to get that good customer service that we’re used to from Rich Bernardo.”

Bernardo is confident his business will continue to thrive even if the economy doesn’t.  “I think t-shirts have been around for a long time, custom t-shirts, and I think they can be around for a long time.  If you think about it we can put your names on anything that you want.  In this economy, it’s a real cheap form of advertising for businesses.”
