Rabid Skunk Found in Groton After Attacking Cat

Pet owners and people in general are advised to be on the alert when wild animals are concerned.

GROTON, CT – A skunk found near Meech Avenue was tested and found positive for rabies Friday, The Day reported.

The animal was tested by Ledge Light Health District after it attacked a cat, according to The Day. Officials said the cat was up to date on its rabies shots.

The public is reminded not to approach or feed wild or stray animals in the wild, The Day reported.
