Repair Zone Growth at 23% Month Over Month Under Director of Repair

Anthony Devlin, Director of Repair for Repair Zone, has increased business by 23% month over month in the first year.

Repair Zone, a parallel smartphone and tablet repair company in partnership with local Wireless Zone- Verizon Wireless Premium Retailers, has grown by 23% month over month under the direction of the Director of Repair, Anthony Devlin.

Anthony Devlin, originally a sales representative at the Wireless Zone of Groton, was promoted to the leadership position as Manager of the Wireless Zone of Branford in October of 2012. In the months to follow, Anthony transformed the Branford Wireless Zone into one of the best Verizon Wireless franchises in Eastern Connecticut.

Devlin’s aspirations included eventually becoming a partner in one or more of the Wireless Zone- Verizon Wireless Premium Retail stores. However, future plans changed for the newlywed when he discovered in March of 2013 that he would soon become a first time father. Because of the commute from New London and extensive hours required away from home, Devlin stepped down as manager in May of 2013.

Although closer in proximity, Devlin transferred directly into fulfilling an even more demanding role as the Purchasing and Inventory Manager to utilize his management skills across fifteen retail locations. Responsible for the buying, ordering, inventory management and invoice integrity, he became increasingly aware of the demand for replacement smartphones and tablets due to breakage, smashed screens, water damage and etc. This sparked the initial idea for launching a smartphone and table repair business.

Identifying a definite need in the market, Devlin collaborated with Chris Jordyn, a Wireless Zone franchise owner in Indiana, who previously recognized the need and branched off launching Phone Surgeons, a repair service within his retail locations. In August of 2013, local owners Scott Gladstone and Neil Ryan agreed with the demand and sponsored a trip for Devlin to spend a weekend in Pittsburg at the Phone Surgeon’s corporate training facility.

Upon his return, Devlin undoubtedly said that repair was the most effective solution to the problem of broken smartphones. “The glass casing and screens of smartphones make them extremely fragile. With Repair Zone as an entity within the stores, we can offer customers above and beyond solutions including no claims process, no insurance deductible and most wait times for repair under an hour.” Repair Zone offers same day repair at a minimal expense in comparison to alternative options such as insurance.

In October of 2013, after months of recruiting, training, and marketing initiatives, Repair Zone was established. Store locations, such as Groton and New London, have in store repair technicians for immediate repairs, while stores on the shoreline and the northeast have certified sales representatives trained to repair smartphone and tablet screens for all carriers as well.

In less than a year, Repair Zone has fixed over 3,000 smartphones and tablets including smashed screens, blown speakers and damaged power buttons. The company has achieved over $400,000 in sales in less than a year. Fausto Lebron, lead repair technician, says “We depend on our mobile devices to guide us through each and every day. As always, accidents happen. Now, Repair Zone will provide customers with a worry free option in replacing their smashed screens and broken smartphones for years to come.”
