Reward Offered In Groton Homicide Case
The family of a man who was shot last year is offering a reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
GROTON, CT — The family of a homicide victim is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction, according to police. City of Groton police received a call at 1:31 a.m., Dec. 12, that a person had been shot in the area of Forty Thieves Bar at 171 Bridge St.
Officers responded and the male victim was transported to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital. Ronald Whitfield, Sr., 59, was transferred to Yale New Haven Hospital where he later died due to his injuries. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled that the manner of death was homicide.
