Ryan Chaney Named New Principal At Northeast Academy In Groton
Well-known New London County educator Ryan Chaney was named the new principal at Northeast Academy Arts Magnet Elementary School in Groton.

GROTON, CT—Ryan Chaney is a well-known educator in New London County. A Montville High School graduate, he taught in Old Lyme for years and has spent the last several years a a school administrator in North Stonington. A University of Connecticut graduate, Chaney earned his master's degree from Scared Heart University. Now, the 35-year-old educator has been named as the new principal of the Northeast Academy Arts Magnet Elementary School in Groton.
Chaney was most recently the associate principal of Wheeler Middle and High School, and was an elementary school teacher in Old Lyme before that. Chaney, who lives in Oakdale, is married to Emily Ryan, a New London educator.
Chaney was hired Monday. A Patch call to Groton schools main district office found that Chaney was already busy at work Tuesday.
