State Notified Of Groton 'Turkey Situation'
State Environmental Conservation Police have been notified about issues with turkeys on Poquonnock Road.
GROTON, CT — The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has been notified of "the ongoing turkey situation along Poquonnock Road," according to a police statement.
"As is the case with any feral animal, we ask the public to use sound judgement and not approach, feed, lure or attempt to capture these animals," police wrote in a Facebook post.
DEEP police said they had not intentions of euthanizing any turkeys in the area.

"We prefer to allow nature the opportunity to run its course naturally when ever possible, however we will be monitoring the situation and will intervene if needed always with the interests of public safety and the well being of the animals as a priority," DEEP wrote in a Facebook post.
