State Trooper Arrested In Groton, Charged With Striking Person In Face
Police said a Connecticut State Trooper was arrested Saturday in Groton for allegedly striking another person in the face repeatedly.

GROTON, CT - Police said a Connecticut State Trooper was arrested Saturday in Groton on assault charges, the New London Day reported. The suspect was at a Mystic restaurant at the time of the alleged assault, police said.
Jeffrey A. Meninno, 52, of Waterford is charged with striking another person in the face repeatedly while at the Chapter One restaurant in Mystic, according to the New London Day. Witnesses subsequently identified Meninno as the suspect, police said. (To sign up for Groton breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
State police said Meninno has had his police powers suspended pending the outcome of the investigation, according to a release. His badge and gun have been confiscated and the matter has been referred to the Connecticut State Police Bureau of Professional Standards, police said.
