Suspect Trying To Steal Dirt Bikes Fired Gunshot At Resident, Groton Police Say

A resident interrupted a suspect who was trying to steal dirt bikes Monday night, according to police.

GROTON, CT — Police are searching for a suspect who is accused of attempting to steal dirt bikes, then firing a shot at a resident, according to police.

Police received a 911 call from a Knoxville Court resident at 10:14 p.m. Monday.

The resident said someone had gained access to a detached shed and was attempting to steal dirt bikes.

The resident interrupted the suspect, who then fled. As he did so, the suspect fired a gunshot toward the resident.

The person was not hit, and no injuries were reported.

Police have not found the suspect.
