Suspicious Package Reported At Naval Submarine Base

GROTON, CT — The main gate of the Naval Submarine Base New London was closed and the USS Nautilus Museum evacuated Monday, FOX 61 reported. Officials said the closure and evacuation were due to a security issue.

A suspicious package was reported around 2 p.m. in a vehicle at an office next to the entrance, The Hartford Courant reported. The Naval Criminal Investigative Service is at the scene investigating.
