UPDATE: Teenager Shot in Stomach Outside Groton Restaurant, in Serious Condition: Police

He was flown to Yale-New Haven Hospital after his condition was determined to be serious.

GROTON, CT – A teenager was shot outside a restaurant Sunday afternoon and was seriously injured, according to media reports.

The teen, who has not been identified by police, was shot outside the 99 Restaurant on Long Hill Road close to 5 p.m., Fox 61 reported. He was flown to Yale-New Haven Hospital after his condition was determined to be serious.

On Monday, police said they were closing in on finding the two suspects involved in the incident, The Day reported. None of the three people involved in the situation are believed to have been patrons of the restaurant.

Police said the incident appears to have followed an altercation and appears to be an isolated incident, NBC Connecticut reported. Police also suspect the suspect and victim knew each other.

Officers are currently seeking out two male suspects who ran from the scene in the parking lot, according to Fox 61. The victim was reported to be shot in the stomach.
