Toddler Injured After Truck Slams Into Groton Building: Report

Police said a toddler was injured after a truck slammed into a building in Groton.

GROTON, CT — Police said a 3-year-old was injured Monday night after a truck slammed into a building in Groton around 7:20 p.m., according to media reports.

According to NBC Connecticut, police said the truck hit a tree before crashing into the building at 70 Buddington Road. Police also said a 3-year-old girl in the vehicle was injured and her father was the driver.

Police said the driver has also been charged in a hit and run incident that occurred beforehand on Drozdyk Drive, according to Fox 61. The accused suffered a minor injury and was taken into custody, police said.

Police said the truck crashed into a storage unit, however the person in the condo above the unit was not hurt, NBC Connecticut reported.
